The Association of Pickleball Players (APP) has unveiled the inaugural schedule for the APP Breakthrough Series, a brand-new tournament circuit dedicated to showcasing emerging pro pickleball talent and providing more opportunities to play the best pickleball tournaments in the world.
APP Breakthrough Series events are catered towards up-and-coming pro players looking to take the next step in their pickleball careers, and amateur players looking for more opportunities to test their skills. Structured similarly to APP Tour events, the APP Breakthrough Series is open to players of all skill levels–from 3.0 to aspiring pros–and all ages, across a variety of brackets. Players in these events have the opportunity to earn additional points, rankings and prize money, ultimately paving a pathway to “breakthrough” into APP Tour competitions. Unlike APP Tour events, APP Breakthrough Series tournaments will not be televised or livestreamed.
“The APP Breakthrough Series begins an exciting new chapter at the APP, with more opportunities for pro and amateur pickleball players than ever before,” said APP Founder Ken Herrmann. “Our foremost mission at the APP has always been to be a resource for all players, especially at the grassroots level. Now, through APP Breakthrough Series, more players will be able to show their skills, receive the highest standard tournament experience, and continue their pickleball journeys with the APP.”
Five APP Breakthrough Series events will be held across the nation in 2025:
- Boise, ID | Sept. 4-7
- Brigham City, UT | Sept. 24-27
- Griffin, GA | Oct. 16-19
- Detroit, MI | Oct. 23-26
- Robbinsville, NJ | Nov. 6-9
All APP Breakthrough Series event pages are available on theapp.global, with player registrations opening in the coming weeks.
