After a jam-packed week in Miami, we’re keeping the party going in Southeast Florida. The APP Tour - the world’s first and the world’s best pro and amateur pickleball tour - returns to the venerable Delray Beach Tennis Center for the 2024 APP Vlasic Classic-Delray Beach, and we can’t wait to bring you another world-class event.
Pickleball players from around the world will hit the courts this week in Delray Beach, featuring amateurs of all ages, pickleball’s elite pros, the AARP Champions (50+) and AARP Masters (60+) Divisions, and the return of the Humana Cup competition. Delray Beach will host singles, doubles and mixed doubles action throughout the week, with medals and prize money up for grabs.
The stage is set for world-class pickleball competition, as defending APP Tour gold medalists Dylan Frazier, Megan Fudge, Jorja Johnson, JW Johnson and Milan Rane return to action in Delray Beach. Joining them will be APP Tour mainstays Susannah Barr, Shelby Bates, Judit Castillo, John Cincola, Andrei Daescu, Ryler DeHeart, Jack Foster, Simone Jardim, Brendon Long, Chris Haworth, Will Howells, Mari Humberg, Rob Nunnery, Bobbi Oshiro, Will Sobek and members of the 2024 APP Next Gen U.S. National Team.
Dynamic Duo
Dylan Frazier was triumphant in his return to the APP Tour with two gold medals in Miami, including in men’s doubles with JW Johnson. At the APP’s last event in Delray Beach in 2022, Johnson won the Triple Crown, winning gold medals in men’s singles, men’s doubles and mixed doubles. The duo will look to defend their titles together in Delray Beach.
Jorja on our Minds
Jorja Johnson took home women’s doubles gold alongside Milan Rane in Miami, securing her APP Tour-leading fifth gold medal of 2024. Johnson became the youngest-ever player (17) to earn a Triple Crown after winning three gold medals at the APP Sacramento Open. Rane, of nearby Boca Raton, has two APP Tour gold medals on the year.
Will the Thrill
Will Howells has burst onto the scene with two golds and five total medals so far in 2024. Howells took home men’s doubles silver alongside Ryler DeHeart in Miami. The Boca Raton, FL native will join forces with Andreas Siljestrom in men’s doubles, and Yana Newell, who took home a silver in Sacramento, in mixed doubles.
Andrei & Co.
Andrei Daescu led all APP pros with 29 total medals and 20 gold medals in 2023, and has four medals thus far in 2024. The Romania native will play men’s doubles alongside Gabriel Tardio as the top seeds, and will play mixed pro doubles with Jillian Braverman, who earned a gold in Sacramento.
Fudge is Golden
Megan Fudge earned her first gold medal of the 2024 season in Miami with the women’s singles title, and also took home two silvers. The Belleair, Florida resident joins forces with Braverman in women’s doubles, and with John Cincola in mixed doubles in Delray Beach.
Raising the Barr
Susannah Barr earned 24 total medals–including 11 golds—in 2023, both the second-most among APP women’s pros. Barr now teams up with Austin Gridley and Mari Humberg to make a run for gold in Delray Beach.
The Champs are Back
2024 APP Tour gold medalists Judit Castillo, Chris Haworth, CJ Klinger and Bobbi Oshiro all return to action in Delray Beach, vying for the top of the podium.
